About us
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Although Brad was born in NZ, he spent much of his early childhood in Colombia, where he is understood to have formed a revolutionary group that eventually became FARC. While his band of evil disciples went on to greater things, Brad returned to NZ at the tender age of 11 where he spent the next 10 years at school and learning the advertising business. He spent his 20’s with agencies in California and has worked both sides of the Tasman.
Now, with AD.3, Brad is the writer/strategist (and sometimes mentor) to Keir and Lee. Together, they form a well-balanced and unbeatable creative-driven team. Brad is working on his first screenplay. He also acts, sings jazz and is sometimes referred to as the velvet lung. Brad is big on hats, Jack Daniels, Lucky Strikes, Chinese food, cheeseburgers and Peggy Lee. No one cooks a better breakfast.
These days, Brad is a bit of a grumpy old bugger, but he manages to see the humor in just about everything. He’s fiercely proud of his country, although he freely admits that if in-charge, in the role of a benevolent dictator, he’d change everything.
ART DIRECTOR
When Lee was born in Pillickshire upon Ditch, in 1975, Beelzebub is believed to have given the whole of Hell the day off in celebration. (But that’s most probably just a vicious little rumour started by a jilted and highly-strung kindergarten girlfriend.) In all fairness, Lee’s close-knit family, his high standard of ethics and his pension for all things arty has afforded him a wonderful and exciting life.
Lee married his high school sweetheart and together they have produced three beautiful children. You do, however, get the feeling that Lee is just getting started. His quest for knowledge is insatiable. His desire to do great work is inspirational.
Lee is not only an extraordinary art director specializing in Packaging Design, he is also a brilliant cook and never misses the opportunity to spoil his family and friends with something tasty. When he’s not cooking or on his Mac, Lee is an avid reader, enjoying non-fiction and conspiracy theories. Before too long he wants to do a base jump and a scuba dive. He dislikes bureaucracy, ignorance, clip art and cell phones. Lee runs and works out a lot – he’s as fit a buck rat – that’s just another reason to hate him!
ART DIRECTOR
Rumored to be the love child of Chuck Norris and Dolly Parton, Keir is actually the son of a preacher man, which would explain his gift of the gab. Keir was educated at MIT (that’s Manukau – pronounced Monaco – not Massachusetts) where he studied art (not rocket surgery) before entering the mad, mad world of advertising. Keir would like to have married his high school sweetheart, but he didn’t have one and the search for that special ‘someone’ continues. (She’s rich, blonde and has a perfect set of teeth.)
Keir must have been born under a wondering star, because in his 35-odd years on the planet he has visited just about every country on Earth. He has worked in the UK, Europe and in the Middle East. Now, at AD.3, Keir has joined his school-buddy, Lee and together they are doing some of the strongest design and advertising art direction in NZ. (Fig Jam!)
Keir loves working on brand identity and with typography. He hopes to publish his own typeface, some day. He’s mad about facebook, blogging, politics, running, gourmet burgers and micro biotic cola. He’s a strange little bugger, but clients seem to like him.
